Schaute man über Jahre hinweg dahin wo weltweit Lithium-Ionen Batteriezellen produziert werden, so sah man vor allem den asiatischen Markt weit vor allen anderen Regionen der Welt aufblühen, während der europäische Markt bis heute kaum größere Produktionsstätten abseits der etablierten Standorte von LG Chem in Polen oder Samsung SDI in Ungarn aufweist.
Nun ist es jedoch so, dass in Europa vor allem in den letzten Jahren eine Welle zukunftsweisender Projekte zahlreicher, hier beheimateter, OEMs Einzug hielt. Unternehmen wollen immer mehr, ob getrieben durch politische Vorgaben, nachhaltig denkende Endkunden, aus Imagegründen oder natürlich auch um asiatischen Unternehmen nicht das Feld der innovativen Entwicklungen zu überlassen, zukunftsfähige Technologien und Produkte anbieten.
An der Spitze dieser Zukunftsfähigkeit stehen aktuell batterieelektrische Anwendungen auf Lithium-Ionen-Batteriebasis. Daraus folgt also, dass sich in Europa eine immense Nachfrage hinsichtlich Batteriezellen entwickelt, sei es für elektrische Fahrzeuge, Power Tools oder den batterieelektrischen Rasenmäher-Roboter. Woraus wiederum folgt, dass es diversen Gründen notwendig wird, den Bedarf an Batteriezellen für alle diese Anwendungen durch lokale Produktionsstätten zu beliefern und was final darin mündet, dass zahlreiche Batterieproduktionsstandorte in Europa entstehen.
Diese Entwicklung lässt sich in der europäischen Batteriezellhersteller Landkarte von Battery-News.de erkennen. 22 verschiedene Batterieprojekte sind aktuell in Europa etabliert, angekündigt oder in Diskussion stehend. Alleine sechs neue Projekte sind im letzten halben Jahr hinzugekommen und weitere werden wohl auch im Jahr 2021 folgen. Europas Batteriezellfertigung will aufholen!
