Nach Informationen von teslamag.de spielt der deutsche Maschinenbauer Saueressig eine entscheidende Rolle bei Teslas Plänen zur eigenen Batteriezellproduktion des neuen 4680-Zellformats. Insbesondere bei der aktuell entstehenden Batteriezellproduktionsanlage in Fremont in Kalifornien waren wohl seit September schon Experten des deutschen Maschinenbauers vor Ort aktiv.
Ganz konkret sollen die Experten an der Installation einiger Produktionsmaschinen, mit denen Tesla Ende 2021 die Produktion eigenen Zellen starten möchte, mitwirken. Saueressig soll neben Fremont auch Aufträge für die weiteren geplanten Batterieproduktionsstandorte Berlin und Texas erhalten haben.
Der anlagentechnische Schwerpunkt von Saueressig liegt nach frei zugänglichen Unternehmensinformationen aktuell vor allem auf Kalanderanlagen, die bei der Batteriezellfertigung im Bereich der Elektrodenproduktion genutzt werden und die das deutsche Unternehmen neben der Batterieproduktion auch im Bereich der Papier-, Kunststoff- und Lederindustrie vertreibt.
Eine Pressmitteilung von Saueressig selbst zur Partnerschaft liegt aktuell nicht vor, klar ist jedoch, dass Tesla CEO Elon Musk eine bekannte Vorliebe für deutsche Ingenieurskunst hat. Bereits übernommen hatte Tesla in der Vergangenheit den deutschen Automatisierungsspezialisten Grohmann Automation. Im Oktober erst kam ein weiterer deutscher Automatisierungsspezialist in Form von ATW Automation zu Tesla hinzu.
Tesla verfolgt die auf dem Battery-Day 2020 verkündete Strategie die vorhandenen Prozesse der Batteriezellfertigung in allen Details zu verbessern. Hierfür ist es für das Unternehmen unerlässlich die effektivsten Maschinen und Anlagen zur Produktion von Batteriezellen zu erwerben und diese in hoch automatisierten Prozessen einzubinden. Dabei scheint sich zu bestätigen, dass deutsche Engineering-Lösungen hier den modernsten Stand der Technik abbilden können.
