Custom Cells errichtet mit Partnern eine Demonstrator-Zellfertigungslinie für qualitativ hochwertige Lithium-Ionen-Batteriezellen. Hier soll an der Flexibilität der Batterieproduktion hinsichtlich der Anforderungen von speziellen Batterien geforscht werden.
Der Batteriezellspezialist Custom Cells plant im neuen Produktionsstandort Tübingen eine formflexible Demonstrator-Zellfertigungslinie für qualitativ hochwertige Lithium-Ionen-Batteriezellen. Der Verbund bestehend aus Custom Cells Itzehoe GmbH, Custom Cells Tübingen, P3 Automotive und dem Zentrum für Sonnenenergie- und Wasserstoff-Forschung Baden-Württemberg (ZSW) startet mit dem vom Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie (BMWi) geförderten Projekt KomVar „Kompetitiven Variantenfertigung für Lithium Akkumulatoren“. Das Projekt, an dem weitere assoziierte Partner wie die Daimler AG, Manz AG und ANDREAS STIHL AG & Co. KG beteiligt sind, läuft über zwei Jahre und wird seitens der Verbundpartner und des BMWis mit einem Finanzvolumen von 8,2 Millionen Euro unterstützt.

maximalen Abmessungen von 200 x 200 mm in Großserienqualität gefertigt werden. Dabei werden die jeweilige Qualität und die Kosten der Zellen untersucht. Die Ergebnisse zu Durchsatz, Wechselzeiten, Verbräuchen und Kosten sollen für die Entwicklung eines Wirtschaftlichkeitskonzeptes genutzt werden. Ziel des Projektes ist es Erkenntnisse für die Marktgängigkeit des Konzeptes zu sammeln. Für die verschiedenen Anwendungen der Lithium-Ionen-Batterien müssen diese nach spezifischen Vorgaben und Leistungsparametern erzeugt werden. Nischenanforderungen mit geringen Abnahmemengen gilt es flexibel und mit geringem Aufwand zu erfüllen. In dem Projekt sollen weitere Schritte für die europäische Batteriezellenindustrie erfolgen, indem Ergebnisse aus Grundlagenprojekten in Industrieprojekte überführt werden. Die Fokussierung auf kleine Produktionsvolumina knüpft an bestehende Projekte zur Etablierung einer Großserienproduktion von Lithium-Ionen-Batteriezellen in Deutschland und Europa an. Zusätzlich werden Knowhow und Arbeitsplätze generiert.
