Der Weltmarktführer im Bereich Supply-Chain-Lösungen, KION Group, hat eigene Pläne für eine Fertigung von Lithium-Ionen-Batterien in Deutschland. In Zusammenarbeit mit BMZ wird entsprechend Berichten des Handelsblatts die gemeinsame Firma KION Battery Systems gegründet. Die Batteriezellen sollen aus Asien beschafft und dann vor Ort zusammengebaut werden. Damit lösen sie die bislang hauptsächlich verwendeten Blei-Säure-Batterien ab.

Bereits jetzt sind Gegengewichtsstapler mit Elektroantrieb entscheidender Bestandteil des Produktportfolios und das Angebot soll im Rahmen der Strategie bis 2027 weiter ausgebaut werden.

Bereits Anfang des Jahres hatte Konkurrent Jungheinrich eine Offensive im Bereich Lithium-Ionen-Batterien gestartet und die Zusammenarbeit mit Triathlon gefestigt. Jungheinrich stellt insbesondere die konstant hohe Leistung und die geringen Anforderungen an die Wartung als elementarer Vorteile eines Wechsels von Blei-Säure zu Lithium-Ionen in den Vordergrund. Darüber hinaus könnten die Ladezeiten von 8-10 Stunden auf lediglich 1:20 Stunden reduziert werden. Jungheinrich bietet 5 Jahre Garantie auf die Batterien und ermöglicht eine Erprobung von bis zu einem halben Jahr.

Das Beispiel Flurförderfahrzeuge zeigt an einem eindrucksvollen Beispiel die großen Vorzüge der Lithium-Ionen-Technologie im Vergleich zu den bisherigen Säurebatterien.
