Nach verlustreichem Jahr 2018 steigert das Unternehmen Akasol seinen Umsatz deutlich. Weitere Investitionen und Standorte sowie eine Erhöhung der Produktionskapazität sind in Planung

Der Umsatz des deutschen Batteriesystemanbieter Akasol ist im ersten Halbjahr stark angestiegen. Im Vergleich zu 2018, das von starken Verlusten geprägt war, ist der Gewinn im ersten Halbjahr doppelt so hoch. Das Unternehmen, das Batteriesysteme für Busse, Nutzfahrzeuge, Schienenfahrzeuge, Industriefahrzeuge, Schiffe und stationäre Speicher herstellt, schreibt somit nach eigenen Angaben mit einem EBIT von 0,2 Millionen Euro erstmals schwarze Zahlen.

Auch wenn der Gewinn bisher gering ist, lässt der Trend auf eine positive Entwicklung hoffen. Durch strukturelle Änderungen und viele Investitionen waren zunächst negative Ergebnisse erwartet worden. Die Produktionskapazitäten in Langen konnten von einer auf zwei Schichten erhöht und die Kundenziele vollständig erfüllt werden. Zudem ist eine Entscheidung für einen nordamerikanischen Standort in Detroit getroffen worden, der mit ca. 2,2 Mio. USD gefördert wird. Bis Mitte 2020 soll dort die Serienproduktion anlaufen. Für das komplette Geschäftsjahr 2019 wird eine weitere deutliche Gewinnsteigerung erwartet. Das Unternehmen plant weiter zu investieren und den Umsatz weiter zu erhöhen. Das noch in diesem Jahr für Tests geplante Hochenergiesystem der dritten Generation soll mit einer Energiedichte von 221 Wh/kg Reichweiten für LKWs und Busse von 400 bis 700 km möglich machen.
