Battery-News presents an updated map of European testing facilities for batteries and battery systems in cooperation with the Chair of Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components (PEM) at RWTH Aachen University. The overview reflects the status as of February 2026 and was compiled by Niklas Kisseler and Tom Schäfer (PEM, RWTH Aachen University).
Testing facilities across 13 European countries
The map covers facilities in Germany, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Poland, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. Germany has by far the largest concentration of entries, with additional locations across countries including the United Kingdom, France, and Italy.
The overview includes specialized testing providers, research institutes, and in-house testing facilities. It illustrates the geographic distribution of Europe’s battery testing infrastructure. The underlying data comes from official announcements by the organizations listed and reliable battery industry sources.
