French chemical company Arkema and Chinese separator specialist SEMCORP have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate in the field of battery separators. The aim of the partnership is to accelerate technological developments and support SEMCORP in expanding its international presence.
Entering new markets
As part of the cooperation, Arkema will provide technical support and contribute material solutions, including its proprietary “Kynar PVDF” as well as acrylic-based products from the Incellion range. SEMCORP hopes this will lead to progress in developing future generations of separators. Additionally, Arkema intends to support SEMCORP in entering new markets, focusing on applications in electric vehicles, stationary energy storage systems, and consumer electronics.
