Solid-State Batteries: Farasis Partners with FAW

Farasis Energy and commercial vehicle manufacturer FAW Jiefang Automobile Co. have entered into a strategic partnership. The objective of the collaboration is to promote the development and application of semi-solid- and solid-state battery technologies for light, medium and heavy duty commercial vehicles. The partnership will focus on applications in long-haul trucking, urban logistics, and municipal technology applications.

Joint development of “pioneering vehicles”

As part of the collaboration, the companies intend to jointly develop “pioneering vehicles.” To this end, battery developer Farasis will provide FAW with technological innovations and products. The vehicles are intended to be competitive and to contribute to environmentally friendly mobility. Details of the partnership, such as timelines or specific project plans, were not mentioned. Farasis Energy was founded in 2002 in California, USA. The company has research and development centers in the U.S., Germany, and China. Farasis currently manufactures batteries at two locations in Ganzhou and Zhenjiang.
