Sodium-Ion Battery: LEAD Teams up With Tiamat

Chinese technology company LEAD Intelligent Equipment has announced a partnership with French sodium-ion battery developer Tiamat. The aim of the collaboration is to accelerate the development and production of sodium-ion batteries in Europe.

Assisting with gigafactory in Amiens

Tiamat, a spin-off company of the French research institute CNRS, plans to build a production facility for sodium-ion batteries in Amiens in northern France. The target capacity of five gigawatt-hours is to be achieved by 2030. Construction of the first production unit with an annual capacity of 0.7 gigawatt-houra is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2024. With an investment volume of more than 500 million euros, the project is expected to create more than 1,200 jobs in the region. Meanwhile, LEAD will provide its expertise to ensure a rapid and efficient transition to large-scale production.
