Hungary Receives Recycling Plant for Production Scrap

Another battery recycling plant is to be built in Alsózsolca, Hungary. The 39.2 million euro investment will be made by the Andrada Group. The new plant will be specifically designed to collect and recycle lithium-ion production waste from locally based cell manufacturers.

Annual capacity of 10,000 tons

The planned facility covers an area of approximately 60,000 square meters in the industrial park in the northeast of Alsózsolca and has an annual capacity of 10,000 tons. The plant will also have an on-site hazardous waste storage capacity of 40 tons. A similar project by a South Korean company recently faced license revocation due to violations, highlighting the importance of strict compliance. Andrada Group relies on state-of-the-art lithium-ion recycling technology that is said to meet German quality standards.
