InoBat Begins Battery Production in Slovakia

InoBat has begun battery cell production in Voderady, Slovakia. A pilot line, which had been opened at the end of 2023, will produce up to 50,000 cells per year. The production equipment comes from the Chinese company Wuxi Lead. The production line consists of 35 machines and covers the entire process from the production of the anode and cathode mixtures to the formation of the cells.

Gigafactory with Gotion in planning

Meanwhile, InoBat is also planning to build a large battery cell factory in Šurany, southern Slovakia, together with Chinese battery manufacturer Gotion High-Tech. The goal is an annual production capacity of 20 gigawatt-hours with the option of doubling it. The plant is expected to go into operation in the second quarter of 2026 and start series production in 2027. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2024. The Slovakian government is supporting the project with subsidies and providing the 65-hectare site.
