German special machinery and plant manufacturer Aumann has acquired business operations and the technology portfolio of Lauchheim-based LACOM GmbH as of November 1st, 2023. The company will operate as Aumann Lauchheim GmbH, while the LACOM brand will continue to exist within the der Aumann group.
LACOM generates ten million euros in annual sales
LACOM specializes in laminating and coating equipment, thus adding the previous step in electrode manufacturing to Aumann’s existing portfolio in battery module and pack assembly. In fiscal 2022, LACOM reported sales of around 10 million euros. Since mid-2023, the company has been in insolvency proceedings due to the insolvency of its parent company, Kiener Maschinenbau GmbH. In 2023, the acquisition has no significant impact on Aumann’s sales and earnings. However, profitable sales in the low double-digit million range are expected for 2024.
