Canadian company NEO Battery Materials has acquired a production site of 5,400 square meters in South Korea to manufacture batteries for drone applications. The facility will focus on high-performance cells using the company’s NBMSiDE silicon anode technology.
Low weight is crucial
The batteries are specifically designed for drone applications, where high energy density and low weight are crucial. NEO Battery develops silicon anode materials intended to deliver higher energy density compared with conventional graphite anodes. The planned production is expected to support the technology’s commercialization.
