Beijing HyperStrong Technology has signed a long-term collaboration agreement with Chinese battery manufacturer CATL. According to the contract, HyperStrong will purchase a total capacity of at least 200 gigawatt-hours of battery cells from CATL between early 2026 and late 2028. The order is intended to form the foundation for the global expansion of HyperStrongʼs energy storage business.
Joint investments announced
In addition, the two companies plan to establish a long-term cooperation mechanism. Both partners claim they will adjust their joint goals annually until 2035. These goals will be specified in new memoranda of understanding. Meanwhile, HyperStrong and CATL have also announced their intention to expand their collaboration to other areas, such as investments in the energy storage sector, development of joint project management platforms, and coordinated procurement of system components. These measures are intended to better coordinate the supply chain and enable more efficient use of resources.
