LG Chem to Supply Cathode Material to US Customer

South Korean company LG Chem has signed a 2.57-billion-dollar supply contract with an undisclosed customer from the United States. The contract is said to run from November 15th, 2025, to July 31st, 2029. LG Chem currently produces 150,000 tons of cathode material per year at sites in South Korea, China, and other countries.

Contribution of Tennessee plant unclear

Additionally, a new production facility with a capacity of 60,000 tons is under construction in the US state of Tennessee. It was not disclosed what portion of the agreed delivery volume the new facility will account for. Details on the materials used or the delivery terms were also not communicated.
