On October 21st and 22nd, the Battery Production Days (BPD) will debut in BatteryCityMünster, Germany. The industry conference, organized by the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Battery Cell Production FFB and the PEM Chair of RWTH Aachen University, will include a tour of the 6,800-square-meter open research factory “FFB PreFab.”
EPT successor focussing on battery production
As a follow-up event to the renowned Aachen “Electric Vehicle Production Days” (EPT), the BPD will focus solely on battery production. The event is intended to provide participants with the latest trends and impetus directly from the field and enable an exchange with pioneers and other industry players in Europeʼs emerging gigafactory region. In addition to a visit to the FFB PreFab, the agenda includes four sessions with experts from industry and research as well as a trade exhibition with leading technology providers and discussions on topics such as “Innovations in the manufacturing process”, “Scaled battery cell production”, and “Quality assurance and modern factory planning”.
Stage for own topics
At this major event, exhibitors and sponsors are to benefit from maximum visibility among decision-makers from business, science, and politics as well as from dialog with a diverse specialist audience from the entire battery production value chain and from a stage for their own challenges and solutions.
Exclusive insights into the FFB PreFab
The FFB PreFab, as a preliminary stage of the FFB Fab, will enable the fully digitalized production of pouch and prismatic cells as well as the complete production process from incoming goods inspection in the laboratory all the way to the formed battery cell. The aim is to bring the technology from the laboratory to the production of initial samples through to small series on a pilot line under one roof. The eventual FFB Fab will create around 20,000 square meters of additional space for industry-oriented production research and development in the gigawatt range.
