Chemours Opens Battery Innovation Center in Delaware

U.S. chemicals company Chemours has commissioned a battery innovation center in Newark, Delaware. The multi-million-dollar facility will serve as a technical support laboratory where partners and customers can work with Chemours engineers to develop, test, and implement new approaches to lower the cost of lithium-ion battery production.

Technologies for solvent-free electrode manufacturing

The goal is to enable more sustainable and efficient batteries for electric mobility. One focus is the development of technologies that use solvent-free electrode manufacturing processes. According to the company, these could reduce production costs in the long term and improve energy efficiency of battery manufacturing. The development site is said to offer state-of-the-art laboratory equipment and analytical methods to help manufacturers integrate innovative battery technologies into production.
