LG Energy Solution is officially adjusting its plans for the 1.4 million square meter US battery production facility in Queen Creek, Arizona. In a recent quarterly report, the South Korean battery company announced that it will now produce 46XX format cylindrical batteries with an annual capacity of 36 gigawatt-hours at Queen Creek to respond flexibly to market demand.

Previously, the plan was to produce cylindrical 21700-format lithium-ion batteries with an annual production capacity of 27 gigawatt-hours. “Given the continuously evolving and diverse market needs, we will ensure that we provide versatile and competitive production in various market segments, ranging from premium to mainstream and low-cost products,” said Youngsoo Kwon, CEO of LG Energy Solution.
