South Korean company SK IE Technology (SKIET) has signed an agreement with battery manufacturer Gotion to supply separators for electric vehicle and energy storage batteries in North America and Europe. SKIET claims to have already completed the technical validation to supply Gotionʼs manufacturing facilities.
Supply of plants in USA and Slovakia
Once the agreement is finalized, SKIET separators will be supplied to Gotionʼs planned factories in Illinois, USA, and Slovakia. Recently, SKIET has already signed a long-term supply contract with an undisclosed global customer for prismatic LFP battery separators valued at approximately 200 million US dollars. According to the company, further medium and long-term contracts with other international battery manufacturers are under negotiation.
