“Battery News” has published an updated map detailing the progress of battery cell production projects across Europe. This latest version provides a comprehensive overview of ongoing projects and includes a comparison with the situation from one year ago. Projects currently on hold have been removed from the map, while an unclear project status is now explicitly marked.
Germany notably losing ground
The goal is to present a more accurate and realistic depiction of Europe’s battery cell landscape, which is an improvement over previous editions. The analysis reveals that Europe is increasingly falling behind in global competition, particularly against North America. Germany has notably lost ground, whereas Spain and France are showing continued growth. Hungary remains the leader in terms of production capacity.
