Multinational chemical company BASF and South Korean battery manufacturer SK On have agreed to collaborate in the market for lithium-ion batteries. The partnership will focus in particular on the North American and Asia-Pacific markets.
Collaboration along the entire supply chain
The partnership’s first phase will focus on possible joint activities in the production of active cathode material. In addition, the companies intend to explore further collaboration along the entire value chain for battery materials, including battery recycling. Further details, including the timetable and scope, have not been disclosed.
