Damit soll das Produktionsvolumen des Werks in Tennessee von den urspr\u00fcnglich geplanten 35 Gigawattstunden auf 50 Gigawattstunden pro Jahr wachsen. Die neue Investition des Batteriezellen-Joint-Ventures von LG Energy Solution und General Motors erg\u00e4nzt die im April 2021 angek\u00fcndigten Ausgaben von 2,3 Milliarden Dollar. Die Produktion soll Ende 2023 beginnen.<\/p>\n<h2>Weitere US-Zellprojekte im Aufbau<\/h2>\n<p>Die Anlage soll das anliegende GM-Montagewerk mit Batteriezellen f\u00fcr die Produktion des \u201eCadillac LYRIQ\u201c und anderer auf der GM-Ultium-Plattform basierender Elektrofahrzeuge beliefern. Die Fabrik von Ultium Cells in Warren im US-Bundesstaat Ohio hatte bereits im August 2022 mit der Fertigung von Batteriezellen begonnen. Derzeit wird dort das Produktionsvolumen schrittweise hochgefahren. Eine weitere Fertigungsst\u00e4tte in Lansing im US-Bundesstaat Michigan befindet sich aktuell im Bau und soll Ende 2024 die Produktion aufnehmen.<\/p>\n<h2>Gesamtvolumen \u00fcber 130 Gigawattstunden<\/h2>\n<p>Nach Erreichung der vollen Produktionskapazit\u00e4t aller drei Standorte bis 2030 rechnet Ultium Cells mit einem Jahresvolumen von insgesamt mehr als 130 Gigawattstunden. Damit sollen Batteriezellenkapazit\u00e4ten bereitgestellt werden, um die GM-Montagekapazit\u00e4t f\u00fcr Elektrofahrzeuge in Nordamerika von mehr als einer Million Einheiten bis Mitte des Jahrzehnts zu unterst\u00fctzen.
