Das Unternehmen Fenecon plant den Bau einer Fabrik im bayrischen Iggensbach zur Herstellung von Energiespeicherlösungen aus gebrauchten Elektrofahrzeug-Batterien. Das Werk soll ab 2024 entstehen und durch die EU mit 4,5 Millionen Euro gefördert werden. Weitere finanzielle Mittel will der deutsche Entwickler von Energiespeichern derzeit via Crowdfunding erzielen.

„Re-X“-Ansatz mit bekannten Partnern

Der Bau der Produktionsstätte in Süddeutschland soll etwa 150 Arbeitsplätze schaffen. Das Projekt mit dem Namen „CarBatteryReFactory“ sieht die Verwendung von Batterien aus Elektrofahrzeugen für die Produktion der industriellen Speicherlösungen von Fenecon vor. So ließen sich die Elektroauto-Batterien als „Full-Packs“ einsetzen, also als komplettes Fahrzeugbatterie-Pack inklusive Kühlsystem und Batteriemanagementsystem. Automobilunternehmen wie BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, Renault und MAN arbeiten bereits mit Fenecon zusammen, um die Nutzung von Elektrofahrzeug-Batterien zu verlängern.
