BASF und der kanadische Batteriematerialexperte Nano One haben eine Zusammenarbeit angekündigt. Das „Joint Development Agreement“ umfasst mehrere Phasen und „Stage Gates“, die das Produkt einer Prozessevaluierung von Nano One seitens BASF ist. Im Rahmen der Partnerschaft soll unter anderem ein Produktionsprozess für Kathodenaktivmaterial entwickelt werden, der sowohl von BASFs HED-Aktivmaterialien als auch von Nano Ones eigenen Technologien profitiert.

Vereinfachung der Produktion

Ziel sei die Reduktion von Nebenprodukten sowie die Vereinfachung der Prozesse. Dadurch erhoffen sich die beiden Unternehmen eigenen Angaben zufolge eine flexiblere Fertigung, eine effizientere Ressourcennutzung und daraus folgende ökonomische sowie ökologische Vorteile.
