Mit dem Projekt „IntelliSpin“, das voraussichtlich bis zum 31. Dezember 2023 am Technologiezentrum Energie (TZE) in Ruhstorf an der Rott läuft, planen die Partner, die intelligente Batteriefertigung voranzubringen. Dabei sollen Elektrospinning und künstliche Intelligenz für den Einsatz in der Batterieproduktion erforscht werden. „Unser Ziel ist eine vollständig vernetzte Fertigungslinie“, sagt Projektleiter Professor Karl-Heinz Pettinger vom Technologiezentrum Energie der Hochschule Landshut: „Sie befähigt die Batteriehersteller, Ausschussraten zu reduzieren, die Qualität und Lebensdauer der Zellen zu verbessern und die Produktion zu flexibilisieren.“
Elektrospinning zur Laminierung bislang ungeeigneter Elektroden
Im Rahmen des Projekts unter Mitwirkung der Technischen Universität München soll etwa das Laminieren von Elektroden verbessert werden. Bei diesem Prozess werden abwechselnd positive und negative Elektroden mit dazwischenliegenden Separatoren übereinandergeschichtet und anschließend daran mit einer Folie versiegelt. Bei diesem Verfahren ist jedoch problematisch, dass günstigere und nachhaltigere wasserbasierte Elektrodenrezepturen bisher nicht laminiert werden konnten. Mit der Technologie des Elektrospinnings soll nun erreicht werden, dass auch bislang nicht geeigenete Elektroden künftig laminiert werden können. Profitieren soll dadurch vor allem die Flexibilität der Fertigung.
KI-basierte Produktion soll Zellqualität verbessern
Mit dem ebenfalls genutzten Ansatz einer KI-basierten Fertigung sollen Batteriehersteller durch die Projekt-Ergebnisse außerdem dazu befähigt werden, Ausschussraten künftig zu reduzieren sowie die Qualität und die Lebensdauer der Zellen zu verbessern.
