Die koreanischen Unternehmen Hyundai, Kia und LG Chem haben in einer gemeinschaftlichen Kooperation den Wettbewerb EV & Battery Challenge ins Leben gerufen. Ziel des Wettbewerbs ist es vielversprechende Start-Ups im Bereich von Elektrofahrzeugen und Batterien zu finden und durch das Event eine Kommunikationsstruktur zwischen Start-Ups und den etablierten Unternehmen zu schaffen.
Das neue Event richtet sich, sowohl an inländische als auch an ausländische Unternehmen, die sich durch eine hervorstechend innovative Technik oder ein besonderes Geschäftsmodell im Themenbereich auszeichnen. Alle Bewerbungen zum Event sollen dann in insgesamt sieben Kategorien unterteilt werden, die unter den Überschriften: Batteriematerialien der nächsten Generation für eine höhere EV-Kilometerleistung und Sicherheit, Wiederverwendungs- und Recyclingtechnologien für Altbatterien zur Senkung der Batteriekosten, Kontrolle und Wartung zur Steigerung der Batterieeffizienz, Prozesstechnologie zur Verbesserung der Batterieproduktivität und Qualitätskontrolle sowie Lade- und Energiemanagement für Elektrofahrzeuge stehen.
Hierzu können sich alle Teilnehmer in der Zeit vom 22. Juni bis zum 28. August dieses Jahres bewerben. Nach einer ersten Überprüfung der schriftlich eingereichten Bewerbungen, können Unternehmen, die von der Jury am interessantesten gesehen wurden, sich in einer Onlinekonferenz vorstellen. Den Gewinnern bieten Hyundai, Kia und LG Chem final die Möglichkeit sich mit den entsprechenden Fachabteilungen der Konzerne auszutauschen, wonach im Anschluss eine passende Investition, in die entsprechenden Start-Ups, ausgearbeitet werden soll.
