Der deutsche Autobauer und VW Tochter, Audi sowie der Baden-württembergische Energielieferant, EnBW, möchten bis zum Ende des Jahres eine skalierbare Batteriespeicheranlage für erneuerbare Energiequellen im EnBW-Werk in Heilbronn entwickeln.

Das Recycling und der damit verbundene nachhaltige Umgang mit Batterien aus Elektroautos gewinnt immer mehr an Bedeutung, gleichzeitig besteht das Problem, dass Energie, die aus erneuerbaren Quellen gewonnen wird, oftmals nicht ausreichend gespeichert werden kann. Hier setzt nun die Kooperation zwischen Audi und EnBW an. Die beiden Partner möchten ein modular skalierbares Batteriesystem entwickeln, dass auf Basis alter Elektroautobatterien neue Speicherkapazität für ökologische Energiequellen bietet.

Ziel ist es, dass die entstehende Anlage eine „Blaupause für eine skalierbares Produktes wird, dass in hoher Stückzahl verkauft werden kann“, so Audi Projektleiter Alexander Kupfer. Die ersten Speicher wird das Gemeinschaftsprojekt von Audi Elektrotestwagen beziehen, in denen die verbauten Batterien schon heute das primäre Nutzungsende erreicht haben. Kupfer weist dabei darauf hin, dass eine Batterie auch nach der primären Nutzungsdauer noch einmal weitere drei bis 10 Jahre in einer sekundären Anwendung nutzbar bleibt.

EnBW wiederum wird für das Vorhaben Containerlösungen entwickeln, welche die stationäre Batterietechnologie umschließt. Als führendes Unternehmen im Bereich der erneuerbaren Energiequellen, möchte EnBW dann künftig die fertige entwickelte Technik an industrielle Stromkunden und öffentliche Einrichtungen verkaufen.
