CATL plant für sein neues und erstes Batteriezellwerk in Deutschland noch in diesem Jahr den Baubeginn. Entsprechende Bauflächen unter anderem in Erfurt und in Arnstadt sind bereits seit längerem im Besitz von Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited (CATL). Seit Februar diesen Jahres ist bekannt, dass der Gesamtumfang der Investitionen rund 1,8 Milliarden Euro betragen wird.

Der Standort Erfurt bietet unmittelbar den Zugang zu den Werken von BMW in Leipzig (BMW-i Fertigung) und Volkswagen in Zwickau, gleichzeitig aber auch die Option beispielsweise Porsche ebenfalls in Leipzig bei kurzen Lieferwegen mit Batteriezellen zu versorgen.

Mittlerweile haben alle großen deutschen Automobilhersteller Verträge mit CATL zur Versorgung mit Batteriezellen unterzeichnet. Die Auftragsvolumina umfassen mehrere Milliarden Euro, ein Großteil der Lieferungen soll auch aus der geplanten deutschen Fertigung kommen.

In den kommenden Jahren werden weitere ausländische Unternehmen wie Farasis Batteriezellfabriken in Deutschland errichten und ebenfalls die weiteren Prozesschritte bis hin zum Batteriemodul übernehmen. Die deutschen Automobilhersteller feilen an Ihrer Herangehensweise größtenteils noch. Neben eigenen Fabriken werden insbesondere Synergieeffekte durch Kooperationen erwartet.

Contemporary Amperex Technology ist ein chinesisches Großunternehmen mit Sitz in Ningde, Fujian. Es wurde im Jahre 2011 gegründet und begann schnell eine internationale Expansion mit der Gründung von Niederlassungen in München, Shanghai im Jahre 2014 sowie weiteren Niederlassungen in den USA, Kanada und Japan im Jahre 2017. Seit dem Börsengang 2015 ist das Unternehmen an der Börse in Shenzhen gelistet. Der Fokus des Unternehmens liegt auf der Entwicklung, Produktion und Vermarktung von Batteriesystem für die Elektromobilität sowie stationäre Anwendungen. Die Produktion und Entwicklung erfolgen bislang hauptsächlich in China.

CATL macht das vor, was in Deutschland und Europa noch durchdacht und geplant wird: Der Bau einer Batteriezellfabrik in Deutschland. Das Investitionsvolumen zeigt den hohen Initialaufwand, die bereits jetzt unterschrieben Liefervereinbarungen aller großen deutschen Hersteller gleichzeitig jedoch gleichzeitg die Relevanz und große Nachfrage. Batteriezellen sind das Herzstück der Elektromobilität, wer sich jetzt nicht ausreichend Zellen sichert, der könnte in einigen Jahren nicht mehr in der Lage sein, überhaupt ein Auto auf die Straße zu bringen.

Die Unruhe in der Autowirtschaft ist zu spüren.
